Editors Note: Unfortunately, spring sports for so many of our athletes have been stopped due to the coronavirus outbreak. Here at provobulldogathletics.com (soon to be provobulldogs.com), we would still like to highlight some of our amazing student-athletes. PHS’s Sports and Entertainment Marketing students will be bringing your these highlights until we get back to school and back to normal life. Thanks for checking in on Provo High School’s source for all things extracurricular.
I recently had the opportunity to have an over the phone interview with senior Jake Christensen of Provo High’s baseball team, this is what he had to say…
When did you get into baseball and what made you want to play?
“I got into baseball, way back [when]… It’s just the sport that my family played, my brother [did], my dad [did], my sisters played softball. So yeah.”
What’s your favorite position to play?
“I play pretty much all the positions. I don’t know if I would have a favorite, but I’m down for playing in right field.”
What are some of your goals for this season?
“I just wanna start most games, if not every game. I want to start in right field and then for my at bats, I just [want to do my best].”
How does it feel being a senior this year?
“I don’t want to be, to be honest. I [just] want to play longer! This is my last year and it [just] sucks that we can’t play right now…”
How do you feel about the Corona-virus going on right now?
“I hate it, I absolutely hate it! I can’t play! I was doing so good the first few games that we had. But now… even if we get back to it, I don’t know if I’m going to be [on] that role anymore.”
What have you enjoyed the most playing for Provo?
“Just knowing the guys, they’re fun! We always hang out if we can, [and] if there’s no games we usually go get food or something. Just hanging out with the team is always fun!”
Thank you Jake! Lets go Bulldogs!!
